Paintball Guns: The Quintessential Paintball Gear

A paintball gun is first and most important piece of equipment in the game. These blasters are similar in design to a semiautomatic weapon and can shoot little balls of paint at the target in different rates of speed. The speed of the fire will be highly dependant on the compressed air, which is expanded inside the machine and builds up to shoot out the tiny little pellets. They are often called markers in the gaming world. Paintball guns come in many different styles and will vary by manufacturer.
Some manufacturers will have add-ons, which are options in which players can choose to have loaded on their weapon. A loader, or hopper, is often given as an option and is the holding system for the paint. Agitating and force feed types of loaders reload faster than other types. The air system and barrel plug is both extra add-ons that many players will opt for when ordering their guns. An extra rechargeable battery is an option to keep handy. With two fully charged batteries, the game never has to end.
The weapon barrel determines many things during use. Paintball guns can be purchased with one, two and even three barrels. The number of barrels will usually correspond to the size and amount of ammunition that can be fired at one time. Length of the barrel can also be found in different sizes. Longer barrels are preferred for quiet firing, while shorter ones are better for aiming and accuracy.
The weapon used for paintballing fun can be found in several types of firing modes. Pump action ones are similar in design to that of a BB gun. It must be re-cocked each time a shot is made. Semi-automatic fires much like the name implies, automatically. These guns will have different rate times in which they can dispatch the balls. This rate time varies by manufacturer. A fully automatic type of weapon will have continuous firing action. These are the fastest guns on the market and require no wait time.
Safety equipment should be purchased before any real extreme game is played. Safety goggles, paintball masks and even chest guards have been created for this sport. These items protect the eyes of the player, face and chest areas from the stinging bite of the hard paint pellets. The eyes are one of the more crucial areas that need protection. Dirt, debris and even paint can seep into the eyes during a game and may cause permanent damage.
